New Patient Oral Health Examination
One very exciting part of our initial introduction to newcomers that shows just how invested we are in your dental and general health is our new patient evaluation. All new patients undergo what we call a New Patient Comprehensive Oral Health Examination, which is unlike any other exam you have ever experienced. We don’t just examine your mouth, teeth and gums. We take an extremely thorough physical and emotional medical history because we have found that your general health and state of mind are directly related to the health of your mouth. We dig deeply into your medical background and leave no part of your past medical history unexamined.
Even if you find something to be not that important to your health, it may provide us the insight we need into a medical condition that could be affecting the state of your dental health.
During the new patient exam, we take up-close photographs of your mouth and face, x-rays of your mouth, and we may even take diagnostic impressions of your mouth. After all the information is gathered, our dentist will sit down with your information and put together what is called a Review of Findings (ROF), a detailed report of your current health with suggestions he has for dental procedures that may help you and improve your smile. This will be presented to you within two weeks of your initial exam.
You are under no obligation to commit to any further appointments with us, but we are confident that once you see how detailed our ROF is and how much our dentist cares about your wellbeing, you will look forward to returning to have your smile transformation begin.
